Onion Pakoras (Onion Fritters)

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium-sized onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour
  • 2 tablespoons rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Water, as needed
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the chickpea flour, rice flour, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  2. Add water gradually and mix until you get a thick batter.
  3. Add the sliced onions to the batter and mix well.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan on medium heat.
  5. Once the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the onion mixture into the oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Drain excess oil on a paper towel.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
