Lamb Rogan Josh

Lamb Rogan Josh is a classic Kashmiri dish that is known for its rich and aromatic gravy. Here’s how you can make it at home:-

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams lamb, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • Salt, to taste
  • Coriander leaves, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add the chopped onion. Saute until the onion is translucent.
  2. Add the garlic and ginger paste, and cook for a minute.
  3. Add the lamb pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  4. Add the turmeric, cumin, coriander, paprika, and garam masala. Mix well.
  5. Add the tomato puree and stir until everything is combined.
  6. Cover the pan and let the lamb cook for 30-40 minutes on low heat, until it is tender.
  7. Add the yogurt and salt to taste. Mix well and let it cook for another 5-10 minutes.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
