Butter Chicken

Butter chicken is a popular Indian dish that is enjoyed by many all over the world. It’s a rich and creamy tomato-based gravy with succulent chicken pieces. Here’s how you can make it at home:

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • Salt, to taste
  • Coriander leaves, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add the chopped onion. Saute until the onion is translucent.
  2. Add the garlic and ginger paste, and cook for a minute.
  3. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  4. Add the turmeric, cumin, coriander, red chili powder, and garam masala. Mix well.
  5. Add the tomato puree and stir until everything is combined.
  6. Cover the pan and let the chicken cook for 15-20 minutes on low heat.
  7. Add the cream and salt to taste. Mix well and let it cook for another 5 minutes.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
