Aloo Tikki (Potato Cutlets)

Aloo Tikki is a popular North Indian snack that is made with mashed potatoes and spices, shaped into patties, and then fried until crispy. Here’s how to make it:-

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, green chilies, ginger paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  2. Mix well and shape the mixture into small patties.
  3. Coat the patties in breadcrumbs and place them on a plate.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan on medium heat.
  5. Once the oil is hot, add the patties and fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  6. Drain excess oil on a paper towel.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
